WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE ANY OF THE AVAILABLE COURSE DATES?

Please get in touch via our contact page and we will be happy to work out a solution for you. With enough notice, we have managed to accommodate various course dates for people.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE ACCEPTED?

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards. All bookings made through the website use Square as the payment gateway. Please get in touch if you would like to use alternative payment methods. An invoice can be created and payment made by electronic funds transfer if preferred.

DO WE OFFER A PAYMENT PLAN?

For some of our bigger courses like the Barista Apprenticeship or Barista Masterclass, we will do our best to help you out. What we can do is take a $500 deposit with the remainder paid at the start of the course date. Please get in touch to discuss some of the options.

HOW DO I GET HERE?

There are several ways to get to our training academy. The easiest way is by car - we are right off the Eastlink freeway and easily accessible through various other routes. We recommend using Google Maps and searching for “Melbourne Coffee Academy.

If you are taking public transport, we would recommend catching a train to Oakleigh Station then taking the 693 bus to get here. This is followed by a leisurely 20 minute walk through Caribbean Park. Many have made the journey successfully and we assure it will be well worth it!

Another alternative is catching the train to Glen Waverley Station then catching an Uber to get here. Estimated cost for the ride is $20.

CAN I RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL MY COURSE?

Yes all courses can either be rescheduled or cancelled. Please refer to our terms and conditions page for more details.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS MY COURSE?

We understand unforeseen circumstances can happen. If you missed your course you can reschedule within 5 days, incurring a $80 rescheduling fee. Please refer to our terms & conditions for more information.

 

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO SIGN UP FOR A COURSE?

We recommend a minimum age of at least 14 years old unless accompanied by an adult. We pride ourselves on being a child safe environment and all our trainers are qualified with a Working with Childrens Check.

 

IS A CERTIFICATE PROVIDED ON COMPLETION OF THE COURSE?

Yes! The certificate will be emailed within 48 hours of course completion.

ARE YOUR COURSES NATIONALLY RECOGNISED?

We are an independent coffee academy offering some of the most up to date training in Melbourne but that also means our courses are not nationally recognised. We are determined to set the standard in the specialty coffee industry and that means we don’t adhere to the same standards as some Registered Training Organisations (RTO) that are nationally recognised. In our opinion, a lot of those standards are out of date - what matters in the coffee industry is the skills and experience you have, not a piece of paper. Coffee is constantly evolving and our approach is to stay relevant and provide the most quality-focused training on the market. Between our 3 barista trainers, we have over 50 years of experience working in some of the top cafes and roasteries in Australia and we genuinely want to share that knowledge and experience with our students.

WHAT COFFEE MACHINES AND GRINDERS ARE USED?

We use a La Marzocco Linea PB espresso machine and Victoria Arduino Mythos One and Mahlkonig EK43s grinders.
